2025 Metro South District Junior Trials & District Championships – Highlights & Results 🏆

We are proud to announce that 48 of our Otters swimmers had a highly successful outing at the 2025 Metro South District Junior Trials and District Championships, held on Saturday, September 21.

🌟 Morning Session: Junior District Trials

This session featured our 11 & Under swimmers, with 25 Otters competing in 50m sprint events to qualify for the 2025 Metro Junior District Competition Finals, to be held on October 25, 2025.

Congratulations to the following swimmers who advanced to the finals:

• Alvin Chen – 3 events: Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke

• Damon Chen – 3 events: Backstroke, Breaststroke, Freestyle (Butterfly – Final Reserve)

• Evelyn Chen – 4 events, including Bronze medals in Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Freestyle

• Zane Chen – 4 events, including Bronze in Breaststroke

• Leo Chen – 3 events: Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke

• Coen Gan – 4 events: Gold in Butterfly, Silver in Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Freestyle

• Kyra Gan – 3 events: Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly

• Louie Jiang – 4 events: Gold in Butterfly, Silver in Breaststroke

• Yafei (Sophia) Li – 1 event: Breaststroke

• Vanessa Luong – 4 events: Silver in Butterfly, and qualified in Backstroke and Breaststroke

• Grace Ren – 3 events: Butterfly, Breaststroke, Freestyle

• Qianhe Shan – 2 events: Backstroke, Freestyle

• Zimo Wang – 4 events: Bronze in Butterfly

• Sean Zheng – 3 events: Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke (Freestyle – Final Reserve)

🎉 All above swimmers will represent Metro South District at the Victorian Metro Junior Competition Finals in October. Congratulations to each of you for your hard work and achievements!

🏅 Afternoon Session: District Championships

Our 12 years & over swimmers took to the pool in the afternoon with 23 Otters competing in a range of sprint and long-distance events. This event also served as the first Long Course Qualifying Meet of the season.

🏆 Club Achievement

Thanks to the outstanding efforts of all our swimmers, Otters placed 2nd overall in the team rankings at the District Championships! Your medal wins, personal bests, and sportsmanship reflect the hard work put in by all swimmers and coaches.
