Food for Performance Information Night

As part of our club's effort to support swimmers and their families outside of the pool, tonight we had a special presentation from dietition Alexis Letters-Heydock discussing food for performance. Her wealth of knowledge comes from her experiences with elite sporting teams and as a dietitian with Monash Health.


She provided useful insights into foods that fuel our child’s performance in training and competitions. She covered a range of topics from:

  • Balanced eating

  • Snack ideas for athletes

  • What to eat before, during and after sport

  • Promoting a healthy relationship with food


Fun Fact: If you put a mushroom in the sun, it will absorb the vitamin D and this is passed on to the person who consumes it.


We would like to thank Alexis for taking the time to educate our swimming family and understanding the importance of food for sport and healthy lifestyle.
